Do you want to use your skills to make a difference to some of the most vulnerable communities in the Middle East? Do you want to ensure children with disabilities and their families have access to the help and support they need? If so, read on…
MAITS is an international disability charity that has reached 600,000 people with disabilities and worked in 21 countries through a team of experienced volunteer trainers. We are looking for an Occupational Therapist (OT) with international experience to provide training on our Community Health Worker programme.
The programme supports carers of children with developmental disabilities to understand their child’s condition and give them practical tools and techniques they can use in the home. The Community Health Workers you would be training do community outreach work directly with Syrian refugees living in camps and with vulnerable members of the host community in Lebanon. Fluent Arabic skills would be highly advantageous, but an interpreter can be arranged if necessary.
We will provide a training session on 14th July at our office in Central London to induct the OT Volunteer Trainer on how to conduct Community Health Worker training and to familiarise them with the relevant materials and you should be available to provide the training soon after. (See information sheet attached).
Flights are fully funded and accommodation will be provided by a lovely, friendly International NGO working in Lebanon.
If you are interested in applying for this position, please start the trainer registration process by clicking here and mention that you are registering in relation to this advert. You will also need to fill in a ‘Grant to provide training form’ if you successfully register as a trainer.
